We homeschool and I selected this item for something for my 5 year old to do while the older children are schooling. He really enjoyed it. I wondered if it would be challenging enough with the puzzles or if it would be too obvious. Because the pattern cards are smaller than the board, he had to use spatial awareness to decide where to place the pieces. The picture pieces are fairly challenging, while the letter cards on the other side are a bit easier. The board is high quality as are the pieces and cards. I am pleasantly surprised as many of the vine items tend to be low quality, this one is not! My 9 and 11 year old children are also having fun with it. It's not difficult for them but it is fun.

This Montessori Wooden Clock is a brilliant educational tool! It teaches time, fractions, numbers, and sorting with blocks, making math fun for kids. I have been using it to teach my 6 year old the time and values and he love's it. It's a fantastic gift, and it's equally useful for classrooms or homeschooling. My nephew just turned 4 and this is ages 4+ so it was perfect timing to give him this gift. He loves it! He did like 4 designs in a row. Started with the boat, did the rocket ship and then the owl, tried the W X letters which he said was hard so I helped him. But it was so cool to see him figuring this out, counting, making the patterns. Very cute! My sister says she's always looking for toys that keep them off of their screens and engaged so she's very happy. The older nephews and niece got involved as well to help. I think they're all going to enjoy it!

It's thoughtfully, well made - constructed from wood, that's not to thin or too heavy, the pieces have a good "feel" to them. This isn't like all those other cheap plastic toys that your house is flooded with. The way that the clock is made with "pie" like pieces, to show different fragments of time, really helps with visualizing an abstract concept such as time.
And being able to put the pieces together like a puzzle is the kind of engaging, hand-on experience that helps kids remember things.It has the potential to teach valuable concepts, while kids are doing something that feels like playing.
